In February 2020, just before COVID19 outbreak went all over the world, I was thinking about the theme of the group exhibition with another artist.
The number of countries who started to close its border was increasing day by day and daily news repots the infection ratio by the race. Whether one wants to or not, people became more aware of the 'differences' of countries, nationalities, and races because of the invisible and borderless virus.
I came across an essay named 'Where does one thing end and the next begin?' written by Ian Monroe, and took the tile of the group exhibition from the essay and we created artworks reflect our feeling of the current situation and contents of the essay.
I made 5 objects with different colours and materials. They are elements of one artwork but also each individual artworks. The colours and textures are very different, but it does not really conflicted each other, difference does not mean disharmonisation.
